► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko 5 Sports Speedtimer 6139-7020 men’s automatic chronograph sports watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1970s. The 6139 series holds an important place in watchmaking history as one of the pioneering automatic chronograph movements of the era and remains highly collectible among vintage Seiko enthusiasts. This example features a striking black dial with orange and blue accents, a rotating inner bezel, and the distinctive JDM Seiko 5 Sports Speedtimer styling. The watch is in full working condition and running and holding accurate time over a 24-hour period. The inner bezel rotates properly as it should. The chronograph is fully functional, and the chronograph hands reset correctly to their proper positions. As with any nearly 60-year-old chronograph with an unknown service history, the buyer should understand the vintage nature of the watch. These movements contain delicate components that can become damaged, worn, or misaligned through age, excessive use, misuse, or lack of servicing. While the chronograph and timekeeping functions were observed working properly, the watch may benefit from servicing to ensure optimal long-term operation. All parts of the watch are original, including the original Seiko 5 Sports stainless steel bracelet and signed clasp. The watch also comes with a genuine vintage Seiko presentation box. I am unsure whether this particular box was originally sold with this watch, so it is being described only as a genuine vintage Seiko box rather than as the watch’s original box. The watch is in great vintage physical condition with signs of use and age. The photos best describe its overall appearance and physical condition and should be reviewed carefully.
