Up for sale is an exceptionally rare vintage Seiko Tokio Kumagai 1F20-5E30 dress watch from the 1980s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). Designed in collaboration with renowned Japanese designer Tokio Kumagai during the mid-1980s, this is one of the most unusual and distinctive watches Seiko has ever produced and is an exceptionally difficult model to find, with examples almost never appearing on the market. The defining feature of this watch is its extraordinary integrated belt-style design. Rather than using a conventional watch bracelet, the entire piece is designed to resemble a miniature fashion belt worn around the wrist, complete with a large buckle, numerous adjustment holes, articulated gold-tone links, and the watch itself incorporated directly into the belt-like structure. It is a remarkable example of the experimental, fashion-driven Japanese design of the 1980s and feels as much like a piece of wearable design as it does a traditional wristwatch.
