► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Spirit 5E21-6D70 men’s classic quartz dress watch produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1990s. This elegant minimalist model features a clean Roman numeral dial layout and classic styling representative of Seiko’s refined dress watches from the era. The watch is being sold for parts and repair as it is currently not functioning and completely untested, so it is unknown what the issue is or if it can be fixed. The watch has signs of use and age, and the photos best describe its physical condition. It should be noted that the original leather band is deteriorating from age. The caseback features an original Japanese commemorative engraving that translates to: “Long Service Award April 20, Heisei 9 (1997) Postmaster” Key Details: • Brand: Seiko • Model: Spirit 5E21-6D70 • Era: 1990s • Movement: Quartz • Origin: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Special Detail: Japanese commemorative long service award engraving • Band: Original leather strap beginning to deteriorate from age • Condition: Non-working; completely untested; sold for parts or repair; signs of use and age A rare and elegant vintage Seiko dress watch featuring a unique commemorative Japanese caseback engraving and timeless minimalist styling. ► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
