► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Silver Wave 5933-700A men’s classic quartz watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. This model features a clean and understated design with a dark dial, applied indices, and day-date display, representing Seiko’s refined everyday quartz lineup from the era. This watch is being sold for parts and repair as it is currently not functioning and completely untested, so it is unknown what the issue is or if it can be fixed. The watch is fitted with an aftermarket stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet is currently broken — while it does close, the clasp is faulty and separates into two pieces when opened. It does not remain as one unit, and the bracelet will likely need to be replaced. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage watch. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Brand: Seiko • Model: Silver Wave 5933-700A • Era: 1980s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Movement: Quartz • Display: Analog with Day-Date • Strap: Aftermarket stainless steel bracelet (broken clasp) A classic Seiko Silver Wave model, ideal for parts, repair, or restoration. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
