Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 men’s 23-jewel manual wind dress watch, produced exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1960s. Widely regarded as one of Seiko’s most iconic vintage dress watches, the Lord Marvel 5740-8000 is celebrated for its legendary 36,000 bph Hi-Beat movement, representing a major milestone in Seiko’s pursuit of high-precision mechanical watchmaking.
The watch is in full working condition and is running and holding accurate time over a 24-hour period. Although it is performing well, I am unsure when it was last serviced and would recommend having it professionally serviced to help ensure it continues running properly for years to come.
The watch is fitted on an aftermarket black leather strap. All other parts of the watch are original.
The watch is in good vintage physical condition with signs of use and age. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully prior to purchase.
