► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio Pro Trek PRT-40 men’s digital sports watch featuring the legendary Triple Sensor system and module 1471. Produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1990s, this model is a standout in Casio’s Pro Trek lineup, offering essential outdoor tools in a rugged and highly functional package. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions operate properly, including the altimeter, barometer, thermometer, digital timekeeping, alarm, stopwatch, and backlight. All parts of the watch are original, including the Pro Trek-branded nylon and leather strap with buckle. Please note: the bezel is extremely difficult to turn. I have not put serious effort into attempting to free it up further, as I was concerned about potentially damaging or breaking the bezel assembly, and I will leave any adjustment or servicing to the buyer. Please also note that the caseback is missing one screw, as it appears half of a broken screw is currently wedged inside the case. A replacement screw cannot properly be inserted until the remaining portion of the original screw is removed. I have not attempted removal and will leave this repair to the buyer. The watch is in good physical condition overall with signs of use and age consistent with a vintage outdoor watch. Photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully by interested buyers. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
