► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio 54QS-16 Men’s Digital Chronograph Sports Watch from the 1970s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). This early digital-era model represents one of Casio’s classic first-generation LCD chronograph designs, featuring a rounded stainless-steel case and simple, functional display layout.
This watch is being sold strictly for parts or repair. The module powers on and displays the time, but the side pushers do not engage the movement, and the issue causing this is completely unknown. The watch is otherwise untested, and it is not known whether it can be repaired, so please purchase with this understanding.
The watch is fitted with an aftermarket stainless steel strap. The watch has signs of use and age, but the photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
