► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage NOS Casio Men’s Digital Sports Watch, model 79QS-39, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the late 1970s. This collectible early digital model features Casio’s Universal Calendar function along with timekeeping, alarm, and stopwatch capabilities, presented in a classic 4-button layout and housed in a stainless steel case with its original multi-link bracelet. The watch is in full working condition and all features and functions operate properly. All parts of the watch are original, including the signed stainless steel bracelet and clasp. The watch comes complete with its original hangtag and original instruction manual. This example is new old stock (NOS) and is in excellent physical condition with signs of handling and age. There is one small mark on the left side of the case that is very difficult to notice, but it should be mentioned for accuracy. The photos best describe its overall appearance and physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Model: Casio 79QS-39 • Era: Late 1970s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Display: Digital LCD with alarm, stopwatch, and universal calendar • Band: Original Casio-signed stainless steel bracelet • Includes: Original hangtag and original instruction manual • Condition: New Old Stock (NOS); full working condition; excellent physical condition with signs of handling and age A fantastic example of Casio’s early digital sports watch design and an increasingly difficult-to-find survivor from the formative years of digital watchmaking. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
