► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare New Old Stock (NOS) vintage Casio Data Bank Telememo 50 DB-500 men’s digital watch, powered by Module 262 and produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. The Data Bank series remains one of Casio’s most iconic and innovative product lines, and the DB-500 is a particularly desirable example featuring Telememo 50 functionality, allowing storage of names and telephone numbers directly within the watch. This watch comes complete with its original hangtag and original Casio presentation box. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are working properly. All parts of the watch are original, including the original Casio bracelet, clasp, case, and internal components. The watch is in near mint physical condition with only very minor signs of handling and age. There are a few light markings present on the caseback, likely the result of a slip during a battery change at some point in time. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
