It should be noted that when the backlight button is pressed, the LCD display temporarily turns off while the backlight illuminates. As soon as the backlight button is released, the display immediately reappears and operates normally. The backlight itself is fully working. This is a common quirk found on some vintage Casio digital watches, where the LCD does not display the time while the backlight is being activated, and it does not affect the normal operation of the watch.
