Rare Vintage Seiko Gyro Marvel Men’s 17J Automatic Classic Dress Watch JDM 1950s

Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Seiko Gyro Marvel men’s 17-jewel automatic classic dress watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1950s. Introduced in 1959, the Seiko Gyro Marvel was Seiko’s first fully in-house designed and manufactured automatic wristwatch. It was also the first Seiko watch to feature the company’s revolutionary Magic Lever self-winding system, a groundbreaking design that Seiko still uses in many of its automatic movements today. Very early Gyro Marvel models were not stamped with a reference number and instead only carry a serial number. This example’s serial number dates the watch to 1959. The watch is in full working condition and is running and holding accurate time over a 24-hour period. The watch is fitted on an aftermarket black leather strap. The watch is in very good vintage physical condition with light signs of use and age. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully.
