Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Casio SUF-120 Surfing Timer men’s digital sports watch from the 1980s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) and powered by Module 942. This bold and colorful Marine Gear model was specifically designed for surfing and water sports, featuring Casio’s dedicated surf timer functionality along with 100M water resistance.
The watch is in full working condition. All features and functions are operating properly, including timekeeping, alarm, chronograph, countdown timer, and surf timer functions. The display is clear and the pushers respond as they should.
This example is in very good overall physical condition, showing signs of use and age consistent with a vintage sports watch. The case and bezel retain strong color, and the watch presents well. Please review the photos carefully, as they best describe the watch’s physical condition.
The watch is fitted on a brand new aftermarket strap, as the original strap deteriorated from age, which is common with these models.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
