► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio SDB-500W “Lap Memory 30” men’s digital sports watch, a Japan Domestic Market (JDM) model from the 1980s powered by Module 863. This model is well known for its advanced stopwatch and lap memory functionality, and this example is especially desirable due to its very rare yellow colorway, which is seldom seen today. The watch is mostly functional, with the digital display, timekeeping, buttons, and primary operations working properly. Please note that the sound function is not working. The case has a small chip on the front, which is purely cosmetic and does not affect the band, wearability, or any functional aspect of the watch. The watch is fitted with an aftermarket strap for comfortable wear. It shows signs of use and age consistent with an authentic vintage sports watch, and the photos best describe its physical condition. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
