► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an extremely rare and highly collectible Casio QL-10 calculator lighter, a Japan Domestic Market (JDM) model from the early 1980s. This piece is widely regarded as one of the true “holy grails” of vintage Casio electronic collectibles. It combines a fully functional calculator with an integrated butane lighter in a sleek compact design.
The calculator is in full working condition and all features and functions operate properly. The lighter also ignites and functions. It should be noted that the internal seals have likely deteriorated due to age. After filling a slight hissing sound can be heard which indicates minor gas escape. The lighter should be considered imperfect in this regard.
The unit comes with its original Casio presentation box.
The piece is in excellent physical condition with only the most minor signs of use and age. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully by interested buyers.
This remains one of the most unique and unconventional products Casio has ever produced and examples rarely surface for sale in this condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
