► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio Pro Trek PRT-1 men’s GPS digital sports watch, produced in 1999 and powered by module 1840. This groundbreaking model holds an important place in horological history as the first wristwatch ever to incorporate a GPS sensor, making it one of the earliest examples of wearable navigation technology.
Nicknamed the “Satellite Navi,” the PRT-1 was designed as a true outdoor tool watch, capable of receiving satellite signals to determine position, direction, and navigation data. The watch features multiple GPS modes including quick, auto, and continuous tracking, along with coordinate display (latitude/longitude), waypoint storage, and navigation guidance screens. These early GPS functions represent a major technological milestone and remain highly collectible today.
This example is in full working condition. All features and functions of the watch are working properly, including GPS functionality. The watch has been tested and operates as intended.
All parts of the watch are original, including the case, module, and strap. The watch presents in good overall condition, showing signs of use and age consistent with a vintage wearable item, but the photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
