► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio MAP-100 men’s digital sports watch powered by Module 693, released exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. This innovative model is part of Casio’s outdoor and travel series, featuring the brand’s distinctive “Map Meter” functionality that allows users to measure distances directly on maps using the integrated scale, making it one of the more unique and technically interesting Casio models of the era.
The watch is being sold for parts and repair as it is currently not functioning and completely untested, so it is unknown what the issue is or if it can be fixed. In addition, one of the lugs has a broken piece on it which no longer allows a band to be properly attached. The broken lug piece is included with the watch and can be seen in the final photograph. It is possible that the watch can be repaired, but I will leave that determination to the buyer.
The watch comes fitted on an aftermarket genuine Casio stainless steel bracelet.
The watch has signs of use and age, and the photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
