Up for sale is a NOS rare vintage Seiko Alba Riki Watanabe Collection men’s quartz watch, model AKQK004, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1980s. This exceptional piece is part of the celebrated collaboration between Alba (a Seiko sub-brand) and renowned Japanese industrial designer Riki Watanabe, known for his minimalist, highly legible, and timeless design philosophy.
The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are working properly. It is fitted with a brand new aftermarket brown leather strap, as the original strap has deteriorated from age. The watch comes with its original hangtags, further enhancing its collectibility.
The dial features a clean matte black layout with large sculpted Arabic numerals, distinctive luminous hands, and a simple two-hand configuration that reflects Watanabe’s iconic design language focused on clarity and usability. The case has a sleek black finish that pairs perfectly with the understated aesthetic.
The watch is in fantastic physical condition, showing only light signs of handling over the years. Photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: ALBA — BRAND HISTORY
Seiko launched Alba in 1979 as an affordable, youth-focused brand for Japan and other Asian markets. Its playful 1980s ana-digi watches, 1990s Spoon models, and other short-lived experiments made it a home for ideas too unconventional for the Seiko name—and now make original Alba watches especially appealing to JDM collectors.
